Grand Villa Casino Hotel & Conference Centre, Burnaby

Night at Grand Villa was the part I cared about most. The room held darkness well once the curtains were drawn, and corridor noise stayed distant enough that I slept through in long stretches. I’m a light sleeper; this was a proper rest, not a performance of one.

Better than expected: the thoughtful little touches waiting in the room — the sort guests mention when staff arrange something ahead. It made the stay feel considered rather than transactional.

This is a great destination whether you're staying overnight or just visiting the casino. The hotel was comfortable, the common areas were well maintained, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming. The staff provided excellent customer service throughout my visit. I look forward to returning in the future.

I like that they have a good variety of slot machines, but the popular ones need better maintenance. There were many spots that felt sticky from spilled drinks

DJ Dliruis is awesome!!! I love all the RnB. And I am so appreciative of the cozy fireplace and Starbucks at the main entrance. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. I do find the common areas very cold. I wish someone would turn down the air conditioning or fans.

We stayed here for a night right after our wedding, and it couldn’t have been a more special experience. I called ahead to request a few arrangements for the room, and the staff on the hotline couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating. Walking into the room, we immediately noticed the thoughtful touches that showed real care and attention. Thank you for going the extra mile to make an already meaningful day feel even more extraordinary. What a fun night.

Light and the bed

First thing I noticed was space and soft light across the bed. The view wasn’t dramatic, but it was calm. Linens felt clean and pulled tight; the mattress gave enough without that hotel-board bounce. I unpacked slowly, which is my tell that a room feels hospitable.

Morning breakfast was unfussy and satisfying — eggs done properly, coffee that didn’t taste like an afterthought, and a dining room that woke up gently. I left without rushing.

The small annoyance: common areas ran cooler than I prefer. Guests mention the same chill. I layered up and moved on — worth knowing if you linger by the fireplace in a short sleeve.

Outside on foot, Dominion Street and the immediate Burnaby surroundings felt walkable and ordinary in a good way — maintained common approaches, a sense of being near the urban core without chaos at the door.

Across the guest book, kindness at the desk and a hotel that feels put-together keep rising to the top. Entertainment is part of the draw, but the overnight stay is what many people praise when they’re deciding whether to return.
